4 Day Nakhchivan Hiking & Cultural Tour

Meeting at the airport and taking the early morning flight from Baku to Nakhchivan. Upon arrival, we transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast (about 15 minutes). After breakfast, we drive to the legendary Alinja Castle, often called the "Machu Picchu of Azerbaijan". We climb the restored staircase to the fortress and enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding mountains and valleys. There will be free time at the top to explore the ruins and take photos.

We then return to Nakhchivan city for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we explore some of the region's most important historical and architectural landmarks, including Khan's Palace, Momina Khatun Mausoleum, and other cultural sites in the city. Dinner at a local restaurant. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in Nakhchivan.

After breakfast, we drive towards Ordubad, one of the oldest and most picturesque towns in Azerbaijan. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours, with scenic stops along the way. Upon arrival, we explore the historic streets of Ordubad, known for their traditional architecture, ancient neighborhoods, and rich cultural heritage. We also visit the Qeysariyye Museum to learn more about the region's history and traditions. After lunch, we continue deeper into the mountains toward Unus village. From here, we switch to off-road vehicles and drive to the starting point of our hike. We then begin a pleasant walk through a beautiful valley leading to Pezmeri Waterfall. The round-trip hike is approximately 3 km and follows a scenic route surrounded by cliffs, mountain vegetation, and flowing streams. Upon reaching the waterfall, there will be time to relax, take photographs, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. After returning to Unus village, we drive to Khan Chinar Recreation Center, one of the most beautiful accommodation complexes in Nakhchivan. Dinner and overnight at Khan Chinar.

After breakfast, we drive to Bilev village, located in the mountains of the Ordubad region. The journey takes approximately one hour.

From Bilev, we switch to off-road vehicles and continue higher into the mountains toward the Gemigaya area, one of Azerbaijan's most important archaeological sites. Along the way, we visit the Gemigaya Museum near Nesirvaz village to learn about the region's ancient history and the significance of the petroglyphs. We then explore the famous Gemigaya rock carvings, believed to date back several thousand years. The site offers impressive mountain scenery and excellent views toward Kapicik Peak (3,906 m), one of the highest mountains in Nakhchivan. From the petroglyph area, we begin our hike down to Nesirvaz village, following old mountain routes through remote landscapes and traditional summer pastures. Packed lunches will be enjoyed during the hike. Upon arrival in Nesirvaz, we are welcomed by a local family for dinner and a traditional tea break, providing an opportunity to experience rural life in the mountains of Nakhchivan. Afterwards, we drive back to Bilev village and continue to Nakhchivan city. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and drive to the beautiful Batabat Plateau in Shahbuz region, one of Nakhchivan's most scenic mountain areas. Once arrived, we enjoy an easy walk around the Batabat Lakes, famous for their floating peat island, alpine meadows, and panoramic mountain views. The route is approximately 5 km and offers excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching. We enjoy a packed lunch by the lakes before returning to Nakhchivan city. On the way, we visit two of the region's most important landmarks: Ashabi-Kahf, a sacred pilgrimage site associated with the legend of the Seven Sleepers, and Duzdag, the historic salt mountain that has been mined since ancient times and is known today for its therapeutic salt caves. After an early dinner at a local restaurant, we transferred to Nakhchivan Airport for our evening flight to Baku. Arrival at Baku Airport and end of the tour.
